Drug Addiction In North Carolina

The drug addiction help program in North Carolina has become quite popular for people who are suffering from two or more coexisting problems. In recent times, this program has become very widely used for people who are suffering from a drug addiction and a mental illness.

Mental illnesses and drug addictions go hand in hand. Depression is one such instance. A person suffering from bouts of depression may take an amphetamine drug in order to reduce the effects of the condition. However, by consuming the substance once, there is a potential that a habit will be formed due to the highly addictive nature of amphetamines. At the same time, as the person consumes more and more amphetamine, the mental condition deteriorates and hence the person might go further into the depression. This becomes a vicious cycle that the person finds very difficult to break out of.

The dual diagnosis approach for addiction treatment in North Carolina is an attempt to break this cycle. When a person is diagnosed with such dual conditions, one of the first things that are done is to put the person through detox. This phase of the treatment would be difficult for the patient mainly because of the mental condition that would make the detox treatment more complicated. Under proper supervision and with the right kind of medication, the withdrawal is overcome.

However, now the mental problem still persists and that can cause further urges in the person for the substance. Maintenance medication is provided to keep the person out of these urges, but along with that the person is made to enter a psychiatric care program that addresses these mental issues.

In this manner a dual treatment approach is implemented in the rehabilitation program in North Carolina. It is quite useful for people who do not know what they must do to get effective treatment for their binary problems that include drug addiction as one of them. If you are interested for more affordable or free drug rehabs you should try in your local community,  in 30-50 miles , there are good chances that you will find some cheap or free addiction program.

Interesting data: Effectiveness of Drug Treatment

Decided to post this very interesting study about drug rehabilitation success, please read careful, there are some very interesting data about numbers and other realted to paid and free drug rehabs:

The Substance Abuse and Crime Prevention Act of 2000 seeks to divert non-
violent drug offenders out of the criminal justice system and into drug treatment.
Research shows that treatment improves drug users’ health, reduces criminal
activity, and saves precious tax dollars.

Treatment improves the health of drug addicts and reduces related health
care costs placed on the public. The 1994 California Drug and Alcohol Treatment
Assessment (CALDATA) found that people receiving alcohol and drug treatment
were hospitalized one-third less often after completing treatment than before
entering such a program. And the 1996 National Treatment Improvement
Evaluation Study (NTIES) found that substance abuse-related medical visits
decreased by more than 50 percent following treatment, while in-patient mental
health visits decreased by more than 25 percent.
Treatment is the most cost-effective way to deal with drug dependent persons.
The CALDATAreport found that a dollar invested in alcohol and drug treatment
results in over seven dollars in social savings due to reductions in crime and
health care costs. Another 1994 study by the Rand Corporation found that each
additional dollar invested in treatment for cocaine addiction resulted in $7.46
worth of savings in societal cost due to reduced crime and increased productivity.
Treatment was rated as 14 times more effective than incarceration in reducing
these social costs of drug abuse.

Treatment also reduces the criminal activity of drug dependent persons.
According to the CALDATA report, criminal activity declined by two-thirds
after treatment. The NTIES found that individuals who completed treatment
were arrested 64 percent less likely to be arrested in the 12 months following
treatment than they had been in the 12 months preceding treatment. The 1997
Drug Abuse Treatment Outcome Study (DATOS) found that outpatient methadone
treatment reduced criminal activity by 57 percent.

Finally, treatment can improve employment opportunities and reduce
dependence on welfare for drug dependent individuals. The NTIES research
found that 19 percent more persons received income from jobs within 12 months
of completing treatment, and 11 percent fewer persons received welfare benefits.

Find free drug rehab !

Making the decision to get help for a drug or alcohol problem takes you a giant step forward to your drug abuse to normal state recovery. Unfortunately, for those people without good health insurance, and without the savings they would need to pay for an expensive private drug or alcohol rehab, finding a facility that will take us in can be challenging, and point is to find good free drug rehab.

First You need to decide what concept you are believe in 12 step or non 12 step drug rehabs, when you choose on of those 180 degrees different approaches to drug rehab problematic, then you need to find appropriate drug treatment.

Rehabs can be expensive, up to $35 000 a month or even more for a private facility, and impossibly out of reach for many peoples. There are some very affordable drug (and alcohol) rehabs that operate as non profit or charity entities, but they can be tough to find, and may also operate with significant waiting lists, so you can choose free or paid drug rehabilitation program or sober.

Free Drug Recovery Housing

One often overlooked option is bypassing drug rehab completely for recovery housing. It will not provide detoxification services, and in general will offer very limited therapy; but for some, they offer enough to get keep you sober during those first very tough months.

It is simply a shared residence where all members of the household are addicts or alcoholics in recovery. Most houses will mandate an active (daily) participation in AA or another form of 12 steps group involvement, and all will demand that you abide by certain rules of the house. No drug or alcohol use is permitted, in any situation, and if you do use, you will not be allowed to stay.

Very Affordable and free Drug Rehabilitation

There are some very luxurious (VIP) recovery homes and clinics, somet operate as non profit entities and individual costs are only as much as is needed to offset house expenses. With as many as 8,16,24  or more residents in a household, each person's share of the bills is very affordable, and in most cases - even if you have no a lot of money - you can be accepted into the house with the understanding that you will gain employment and start to contribute your fair share.

As all residents are in a similar situation of recovery and temptation, there is a great feeling of mutual support within the house. Free Drug Rehab addicts learn from one another how to live without intoxication, and learn once again how to enjoy life without chemicals. A lot of us begin our journey through recovery without a strong sober support network. All of our old friends still use, and loneliness can be a real problem, loneliness can trigger relapse. Recovery house friendships are the rule and not the exception.

Residents in general stay for as long as they want to as long as they feel they need to. An average stay is about 1 year, although some people will stay much longer than this!

If you don't know where to go, and if you don't have the money for a private drug rehab, consider a recovery house, it might be what you've been looking for. It may be for someone better than any paying drug clinic or some expensive drug rehab centers, so if you are out of money and have problems with drugs, don't give up there is a lot of safe houses that will offer you free drug rehab programs and centers.

UPDATE:If you are looking for 100% no cost rehab, please visit this link, since I found out that many programs and detox clinics that I described on this blog are actually not free, mostly from users experience who contacted them and then messages me about that, so I am looking for help in creating REAL FREE DRUG REHAB resource.

Drug Rehabilitation, again and again...

Many of people who already drug rehab threaded  have an aversion to starting over.  Sometimes when things in life are not working for them in their area of their life a little tweaking will do.  Sometimes it involves a change of focus or direction.  Other times it may be more efficient or even necessary to simply start over.  Still other times they may have no option but to start over on paid or free rehab center.  The situation may have deteriorated to the point there is nothing left to work with.  In drug rehab treatment often a person is looking at starting over in at least one or two areas of their life.

Their addictive behavior may have cost them a job or a career.  Legal issues may have made it impossible to work in the same area as they were previsously employed.  Relationships may have come to an end.  Often clients are faced with divorce.  This always means starting over.  Often we fight and hang on in situations were starting over would make sense.  It probably stems from our fear of failure.  If we are starting over, we must have failed, or at least the voice in our head would want us to think that.  There are at least two errors is this line of thinking.  One is that you may not have failed at all.  Ten years down the road we often see that what we thought was failure was simply a leaning experience or stepping stone to success.  The other mistake is that you are never truly starting over.

Even if financially or otherwise it looks like you are back at square one, you are not.  You have the wisdom and experience of what you learned.  You cannot help but do a better job the next time because you have a whole list of things you know do not work.  You have another list of things you know you will handle differently.  These two lists are always a valuable asset.  What starting over really might be considered as trying again with a head start.  Funny how changing the words a little bit in a definition can make all the difference.  Drug rehab is not starting over.

Drug rehabilitation and care program?

There are no quick fixes for the diseases of drug abuse, alcoholism or causes of teenage drinking.  Drug recovery is an ongoing process. The skills one learns during intensive rehabilitation treatment must be integrated into everyday life and this takes time.
Some drug addiction treatment programs will offer a follow-up program but only in one location which may make it difficult to use.

Drug rehabilitation treatment programs should include a quality, continuing care program that supports and monitors recovery, no matter are you in paid or free drug rehab program.

The decision to enter a drug rehab program can be a very difficult and painstaking process. If you are confused by the many choices offered on this drug rehab site, please follow our blog, read and you wil find a lot of useful resources and adequate free or paid drug rehabilitation centers.

How much does a drug rehab cost?

How much drug rehab cost? It is often one of the first questions asked when someone calls a drug rehab program. It can be paid of free rehabilitation, depending on program and center You choose.

The price tag for drug abuse, alcoholism treatment is presented in many different formats. You need to know what is included, what will be added to your bill as a fee-for-service program, and what services your health insurance will cover. This makes it extremely difficult to compare prices by simply asking the question - "What does it cost to be in detox program?"

If you are seeking the best value for your treatment dollar, remember: Price can be meaningful only in the context of quality and performance.

Also, feel free to read this very interesting article about outpatient drug rehab, that can help you releasing something more.
